The scarcity of robust benchmarking resources for institutional credit risk has long been a critical challenge. Credit risk departments need to calibrate their models, set priorities, and justify their outputs to regulators. However existing external data sources cover barely a quarter of banks’ counterparties.
Credit Benchmark is an innovative company established to meet this need. We offer a new source of credit risk data that unlocks the value of banks’ own internal credit risk activities. Our contributed-data model enables us to ingest, anonymise and co-mingle estimates from IRB banks to produce robust consensus data and analytics. The resulting data is a powerful tool to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of banks’ credit risk management.
Formed in 2012, Credit Benchmark has brought together a quorum of leading global banks to work on a Proof of Concept. We look forward to sharing our progress and conclusions with delegates at Ri$kMinds 2013.
